Squeamish5 309
Few years ago, Himself saw a writhing wriggling mass of them during mating season. They live in our 'may be useful one day' materials area. (Which has gorse growing all round it........) Occasionally see them soaking up the rays on a sheet of wrinkly tin. Never risked getting close enough to photograph them, though. pain in the arse if the dogs go near them horrid things set a match to the gorse i say Lol. That was my first reaction at the time but, as we don't live near our materials (few items of scrap) the gorse and the snakes are both quite handy guardians. Re dogs, they tend to ignore that area (maybe because the rabs keep clear too, and there are more interesting places to stick their noses in). Adders around was a signif part of my childhood but only one dog bite, in many years.
