Beaters Trailer Insurance

Recommended Posts

hello everyone. my current dilema is........ ive been beting on the same shoot for over ten years but this year the keeper has asked me to drive the tractor towing the beaters trailer, ive got no problem with this but im not sure if i would be insured on the road, and with such a valuble cargo i feel i cant risk it. I work on a farm and do plenty of road work under my employers fleet insurance, but im not employed by the shoot in question, to add to this i "avoid" beaters tax by saying i do it only for fun (if the tax man asks) so im still not officially employed by the shoot, even as casual labour. Can anyone help please? many thanks

Just had this myself. I've had to get confirmation in writing from our insurers for the lad who drives our vehicle. Just to prove that the vehicle was covered for the use of carrying beaters and he wasn't liable for them Difference is we use a lorry because we do alot of travelling on road. If your driving a vehicle carring people you Will be liable for them for a certain amount. Because your in control of the vehicle. Best thing is if your unsure don't drive it.
