adam1 2
I do a fair bit of rabbiting with my AirArms S410 22 carbine, and am considering going FAC but dont really know anything about their abilitys. What sort of ranges are they effective to (please keep it realistic, I PERSONALLY consider 30 yds enough for 12 ft lbs), how is accuracy affected, how is trajectory affected how is sound affected etc. What ft lbs should i be looking at and perhaps most importantly what are the negatives? It seems all forces seem to have their own criteria but what is an air FAC like to obtain ( I have several smaller permisions where i doubt permission for a rimfire would be granted) Would it be sensible to have my rifle converted or should i start again, i appreciate that it would devalue my rifle but as i'd have no intension of selling it thats no problem, and please answer all the questions ive forgotten and did'nt know to ask aswell as i'll probably be back with more. Guest Scuba1
IMNO , if you are going to have the hassle with obtaining an FAC, get a rimfire and keep the 410 as it is. Michael Quote Link to post

Cheers Adam I agree with scuba...... you can always use "shorts" in a .22lr delivering the equivalent of 38ftlb (if my memory is right) 1 gun, 2 purposes and save the aa for "plinking"............ that should start a barney with the airgunners .......... only kidding fellas Quote Link to post
andy s410c 63
Adam have you asked your landowners if they already have lads with rimfire coming on to the land??I'm going for FAC in the summer...if i have the £££.Personally i think the price of FAC rated airguns, charging gear is very expensive compared to rimfire. If i get my FAC sorted i would still keep my AA410C for lamping & for shooting around the farmyard.Anyway i would ask if the land your on is passed for FAC then you can make your decision from there...
