Hannah4181 260
You're a lot more patient than me Hannah. I would've bitch slapped the woman, never mind the chihuahua! I like chihuahuas to be honest, but like any other dog they need to be properly trained and socialised. They are dogs, not wittle pwince and pwincesses ffs! To be honest i was laughing too much at spiders face with this spitting little thing in his mouth, to attempt anything else . . .. . . . so so funny, gutted i didn't have my camera! I think this 1 may have been a chihuahua crossed with something else, maybe a miniature pinsher, as it was leggier than most i've seen. My friend has a couple of chihuahua's and they are great little dogs, not my cup of tea, but as you've said, with a correct upbringing they don't need to be nasty and aggressive. BlueCoyote 0
all it will take is for that chihuahua to meet the wrong dog on the wrong day. i've met more nice docile chihuahuas than mean ones, and i have kept one of the mean ones while her family was getting divorced. i learned they arent that hard to get control of, no matter how wild they act when you first bring them home.... i mean think about it.... you're that small, the world is ten times larger than you..... if you arent secure in your environment, if you feel like no one is going to protect you, then you're likely going to grow up bloody minded. i know i'm out all by myself with my opinion here but i always feel bad for dogs like this, no matter what breed. and it seems like they always have the same type of owner..... the one who humanises the dog and coddles it, calling it their baby... heaven help us if they ever got a REAL baby! can you imagine what kind of adult it would turn out to be?? I'm with you on this, not my cup of tea either but the owners are to blame. They think because their dog is small it doesn't matter if they're snappy. If my GSD did what that dog does there would be uproar but an 'ickle iddy biddy pocket pooch is not doing any harm (in the eyes behind the rose tinted glasses the owners wear). I bet she even believes it only wants to play...... how many times have we all heard that?

I completely agree, it was a good job my lurcher is so docile . . . . . if i'd had my JRT or my sisters border it would have been a different story!
BlueCoyote 0
well thats what gets me! these people think their dog is doing no harm when in fact its putting its life in danger. their dog may not be able t physically harm anything larger than itself but if it pushes the wrong dog then the small dog loses. i've seen the damage a big dog can do to a small one and naturally everyone looks at the big dog as a vicious brute with a killing streak. no one ever considers the little dog was asking for it! my bitch is territorial and female aggressive. i never try to cover that up, but outside of our property she's never tried to harm another animal.... except for people i mean. She then becomes territorial over ME and wont let another person that isnt family get within six feet of me - thats how far her leash reaches - i dont consider that a bad thing though. i got her for protection and she isnt a lunging snapping idiot. she's got a presence about her that says "Stay back or else" but with little dogs? she doesnt even notice them. i took her to my cousins house with at least six or seven chis running and darting around and Kaydee never once licked her chops. i've taken her for walks and been charged at by ankle biters and he's never turned her head. she seems to know when the fight would be pointless. that i admire about her. But when she's home in her own yard she's different. for a long time the people across the street would let their poodle escape, and it would end up on my property and Kaydee's first thought was to remove it right away! Thankfully she is good on her "stay" command. and thankfully again the neighbours have a installed a fence to contain their dogs! i cant imagine what would happen on a day when i'm not home and that fluffy idiot didnt have me to rescue her! but naturally Kaydee would be the one to blame...
