Wanna be farmer 0
Hi, i'm a young hunter of the age of 14 and i have an air rifle (HW77). I used to shoot on a familie members plot of land but they have now sold it. I go shooting with a respectible 36 year old man. I live in northampton. If anyone has some land around the Northampton area and would let us shoot vermin on it would be much appreciated as i can not shoot anywhere except from ranges as my garden is not big enough. I can't even shoot at targets anywhere without going to a range, i don't go to ranges because i dont want to pay there stupid prices. I can also shoot within an inch cirsle at 20 yards if this helps. Much appreciated, thanks, Alex Edited April 12, 2009 by Wanna be farmer Quote Link to post

I think you need to make it clear to the farmers/landowners that you're asking their permission to shoot, not offering pest control. Although in effect, you will be helping to control pests, it's not quite the same things as a full pest control service. Quote Link to post

Guest Scuba1
IMHO if you want to up your chances of getting permission, you may be better of letting your 36 year old shooting partner do the rounds to ask for permission and then just tag along with him. Just a thought Michael Quote Link to post

Who want's a 14 year old to shoot on their land? You'd be surprised mate, I had some permission when I was around your age, as did a friend of mine of similar age, which worked out a treat for both of us, as we were both allowed on each other's permission as long as we were together. The most important thing is that you make the right impression. Perhaps send letters out, explaining that even you're only 14, you're sensible and safe at all times, and that you'll respect any rules laid down by the landowner, as well as respecting boundaries, livestock and game birds- and ensure that you remain within the law at all times. Of course it won't hurt to mention that you'll be accompanied by an adult at all times. Quote Link to post

Much appreciated, thanks, Alex Hi Alex, If you haven't already seen them, click on the link in my signature, this will take you to the thread in the FAQ section of this forum where I've got some forms that you can copy and alter so as to suit your needs - just an idea which may help you out some? You can then hand them out to people when you speak with them - that way, you may get a surprise back. Also within the FAQ section, there are a few bits and peices that that I, and others have constructed, which you may also find of use or interest to you? Above all, NEVER give up hope - you WILL get there sooner or later pal! Regards, Grim. Edited April 12, 2009 by Grim Reaper Quote Link to post

Ron Weasley 83
BUMP Mate, this isn't going to help you. We all work hard to get our permission. Nobody will be willing to give their's away. You'll have to put in the effort that everybody else does unfortunately. Quote Link to post
Wanna be farmer 0
I'm keeping this toppic incase someone stumbles accross it and will give me permission. The farmers in Bugbrooke are not willing to give permission to anyone. Quote Link to post
