third time....unlucky

Since it was a nice day today i decided to go ferreting.It's only the third ferreting trip for my 12 month lurcher, and only my fifth trip, all previous trips have been failures. About 4ish i found a nice 4 holer were the cover was down. The dog marked well, really well, netted up, silver jill ferret in, seven minutes later 3 baby rabbits bolted they managed to avoid my poorly set nets and escaped through the other side off the fence. Ferret apears goes back, two mins later, doe rabbit pops her head up and quickly returns, then the ferret appers and goes back in, so i decided to put the other polecat jill in, both apear within 1 minute. i collected up the polecat and set the silver jill back to work. about 30 seconds later the doe bolts and gets caught in the purse net. Shaking like a druggie i grabbed it as it tried to run back into the hole. then somehow it slipped away. the dog chased it, then the rabbit got caught on barbed wire, the dog who hasn't killed yet just stared at it then coursed it through the woods. all the while another baby bolte and slipped through the fence. Will rabbits return to a burrow if a ferrets been through it once or will they move on.

You gave some sensable advice on the rifle thread I put up after we had a bit of a dust up in the week................so get a name for making a contribution mate as you obviously have ssomething to offer.

The well respected lads on here have all got a name for helping people..........thats the right name to have.

im sorry mate i do get carried away sometimes i cant help me self, as you said there some good people on here but there are some people with some right extreme views when it comes to hunting and the treatment of there animals which i find a bit hard to swallow sometimes and whats wrong with me playing the guitar
