Guest jdh488
Hi Mate, try putting a card up in your local farm suppliers shop, include your home telephone number as a contact, it looks better than a mobile number. If not try making contact with the local Young Farmers group, its a good foot in the door and a good social life. You will find once you get 1 taker and do a good job you will soon get a few more takers. Once you have got the permission get a short letter to give you authority and try to carry a copy with you when you are out. Good luck Quote Link to post
ginge2k6 0
Never heard off a farmer suppliers store. where i live aint really a rural area. but i might put some cards in the pet shop. might even have a go at rat catchinusing ferts and making me own nets but i'll read up on it first. if anyone has any advice on ratting with ferrets that would be helpfull. Guest MOLLY
I looked up all the farmers in my area, sent a letter out with details of myself, my dogs and a sae for them to reply. When someone meets you they cannot tell if you are this and that, and dont always ask the right questions to find out at the time, they make assumptions regarding you on how you look/act. I thought about everything i would not want in a person coming onto my land and made sure they realised i was not like that in my letter. Its all down to the ferrets and their temprement really regarding ratting with them, the rest is the same as ferreting for rabbits except you have to use small jills and no collars, and as rats tend to make their homes in the worst possible places think carefully as you could possibly lose your ferret.
