First gun advice

Recommended Posts

Having a newly-acquired FAC, I now face a huge array of options for my first gun.

The first is going to be a 22 rimfire, since that's what I've been using down at the range.

So the choices seem to be: new or second hand, and the make.

This is my first post, so 'Hello' everyone.

hi,

welcome to the forum :welcomeani:. what is the rifle that you have been using at the range, have you been getting on with it well. if you like the rifle and get on with it well then i would advise you to get one of what ever you use at the range. post up what you use at the range nad if you get on with it well.

cant go wrong with a cz 452,bolt action, sweet as a nut, deadly quiet, acurate as any gun on the market, mine has acounted for hundreds of hoppies,

no probs what so ever, and will take any ammo, but seems to like win subs,so costs next to nothing to run,and a good choice of barrel lengths to suit, mine is the style version with 16" barrel, you can allso get the heavier varmint barrel, cant go wrong either way, mine has the sac mod, good as anything fir me,oki doki, ian

Well, as already said, nothing CZ make will let you down. If you are going out "in the field", any of their range will do, just have a look at a selection.

If on the other hand, you are intending to stay on a range, then perhaps something like a more target orientated rifle is required. I am thinking thumb hole stocked Anschutz for instance. You can of course use any .22 on a range, but for competition use, I would prefer the heavier true target types.
