Toka 10
hi...finally picked up my new gun....can anyone enlighten me on some of the markings found on the barrels... stamped into on barrel is 'CAM .70' [i presume that means 12 bore] further down near the breech is stamped on both barrels '18 4' and on the bottom barrel is KG1.350 [i take it that is the proof] on the underside of the locking points are stamped '4' and '2' [will these refer to the chokes?] and on the barrel and stock metal are stamped with a star in a circle, 'psf' and 'finito' i have been told that this is a 1/4 and half choke gun, which barrel will be which?? as you can see in the picture it has a locking mechanism that i thought was a side lock....i dont think it is now but does anyone know if it has a name... it is a nice solid gun, there appears to be something inside the mechanism that may be lose and on tipping the gun it can be heard falling?? i may have a look inside to see what it is....i will take it out tomorrow to see if i can still hit anything.... any comments welcome....as the shop was very busy i didnt get a chance to ask them many questions... SportingShooter 0
CAM 70 is the chamber length, = 70mm or 2 3/4" in old money. The KG number is the service pressure in Kilograms per Sq. CM. 18.4 is the size of the unconstricted bore, i.e. 18.4mm. As for the 2 and 4 marks, I can't tell what they are really, more than like choke in which case they equate to Half and Quarter. The 1/4 choke will be on the bottom and the half on top and the clunking you can hear is more than likely the inertia system used to cock the second barrel on firing. PSF and Finito are just proof marks that identify the proof house and its definitely a box lock. Hope this helps, SS Quote Link to post
