If you are the land owner or have permission from the land owner, and you have reasons to take magpies then you can. Protection of livestock or game (chicks etc.), wild bird protection ( a bit dodgy that one), damage to property etc, all these are covered in the general licences. The RSPCA and RSPB love to use shock tactics and half truths to fool a gullible public. Getting a dimwitted actor/actress/singer/personality is one of their favourite ploys. If they didn't talk such shite and brand ordinairy country folk as mindless yobs hell bent on killing everything in sight, they might get a bit more support and sympathy. FCUKwits piss me off....
