Coatesy900 0
This is my first actual write-up with pics, as I've finally gotton round to buying a new camera As the season is coming to an end, I thought I would try and get out and stock up the freezer as much as I could for the summer. Went to a bit of permission which was full of open warrens, ranging from several 1 holers dotted around, to a large 30 holer in the middle of the feild. With only ten nets, I had to leave the bigger ones alone however. I did a few sets on this permission a couple of weeks ago, producing 6 rabbits, but thought I would return to see if I could catch what was left. Unfortunatly, after doing a ten holer, two sixes, a five and three ones, nothing in the bag. My guessing was that the rabbits were in the bigger sets, so I headed over to a twenty(ish) holer, netted up the most likely looking holes, entered the ferret and ten minutes later two bolted in quick succession out of a non-netted hole. The ferret was popping in and out after this so I packed up and headed home empty handed. Classic end to the season lol. Quote Link to post

Coatesy900 0
Last day? over a month left on our permission up on the hills i reckon, still got snow up there, as long as you had a good day out thats all that counts, don't you have any more nets? I've seen a few young about, and couple of weeks ago had some preggers does, so dont want to risk lay ups without a locator so Im calling it quits until September Ten is all I've ever needed until I started to scrounge up better permission. Most of the warrens I used to ferret never had more than ten holes so Im trying to collect a few more for when I start again later in the year Edited February 21, 2009 by Coatesy900 Quote Link to post
