Meerihunter 7
lads can anyone of you experance lurcher men tell me is a lurcher at 15 mths old should he be able to put a few stops into a big ears rabbit r wud he tiren fast he is saluki x hound My Collie Greyhound ran her first Hare at seven months (not on purpose) caught up with it and turned it but it got away she didn't catch one for another six months. personally I think Salukis are lazy but there's allways some one out there who knows better! You think Saluki's are lazy or know they are from actual experience? Munsterlander Sounds to me that your SalukiXgrey isn't is'nt fit enough (or perhaps not entirely sound) and has had his confidence severly knocked as a result of being over taxed. A strong fit/sound 15 mth old confident Saluki X should be more than capable. get the dog fit for the start of the next season and run him doubled up for a good few runs with a capable dog to build its confidence. witton 6
Get him some squatting rabbits on the lamp to build the dogs confidence then if he seems ready then try him doubled up....but i wouldnt push the dog to hard some dogs mature slower then others....and spoiling the dog before its time isnt good....Just wait till next season and try on the big ears then..... All the best witton Quote Link to post
