i decided to go and have a look to see if i could shoot a deer yesterday i arrived about 3.30pm at the small wood i have permission, you dont see a lot of deer in there but now and again i am lucky, i do manage to get one and so with in ten mins of being there i see one through the trees about forty yards, but only the back end. i waited a while waiting to see if it would move so i could get a shot. i was getting a bit excited as i havent shot a deer in this wood for almost a year although i had seen deer, a few does in september out of season, anyway back to the deer in hand i tried to move to a different angle to enable myself to have a shot with my eyes focused on this deer i did not see the others lying down, they spotted my movement and all stood up. i froze on the spot but too late they moved off into the trees another opportunity gone b***cks never mind what is it they say better luck next time

It happens mate ,especially in woodland where its not the deer you can see that is the problem .For every deer standing i like to look for at least 2 sitters .If there not there then its game on.

Bad luck mate,could you not get a neck/headshot? I wouldn't worry too much anyway,cos,now you know there are a few mor ethan you thought there,good luck for the future mate................martin.

no couldent a neck or head shot i could only see the back end never mind i"ll have another go next week its given me a bit more incentive to go now to try and get one before the of the season
