FOX HOUNDS

I have but don't like dealing with that many hounds at once also all the landowners around here have gone post it crazy because of the idot deer hunters that drive all over crops and tear up the land. I remember the day when you could go anywhere and not have to ask nobody, but there were no deer here then, just fox, rabbit, quail, squirell, and coons. Walked a many a mile behind my Dad and his bird dog, but there were a lot less people around back then. The world is always changing but I sometimes wonder if its alway for the best.

Foxhunting around here, the track dog is turned out were there may be a fox and he must track him down and jump him and once he's up, you start packing the hounds in on the race. The race can go on for hours and listening to the hounds, picking out the differrent dogs by their bark and seeing which ones crosses in front first, thats the fun of fox hunting. Raising that good hound and hearing him run, thats what drives the foxhunter on. Sometimes they catch the fox, but with all the swamps, creeks, and thick woods around here, the fox sure has a good chance of escape and many times does and is not that important to us. But keeping 40 hounds can get a bit expensive these day and with so many places were you cann't drive into to catch your dogs, along with having to argue with the small land owners that think they own the world with that 1/2 acrea, its just not worth it anymore. I was just wondering if anyone over there still did.
