pip 0 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Share Posted February 12, 2009 Hi, could anybody describe to me the correct way of fitting brailes to some hens I will be catching up?Thanks, Rich hi, it's not difficult to do but quite hard to explain. i'll have a go: if you tuck the bird under your left arm with your left hand holding the right wing take the brail between thumb and forefinger of your right hand and pass it over the right wing so that it is against the body of the bird, put a twist in the brail so that it is a figure of eight or two loops, the loop that is not round the wing is then passed over the end two or three feathers, if you have done it correctly the wing will be as if held in a sling. it can be quite tight getting the second loop on especially on cock birds. hope this helps, not sure it's very clear but best i can do. atb.
