lampman 7 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Share Posted February 5, 2009 COULD ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE BEST WIRE WOULD BE TO RE-WIRE MY LAMPS, IV A PAIN WHERE THE SUN DONT SHINE ,FIXING BROKEN WIRES 4 TIMES ITS HAPPENED NOW AND IM OFF, ITS NOT JUST ME ITS HAPPNED TO, I NOW A FEW OTHER PEOPLE ITS HAPPNED TO ASWELL SO ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT... john hubery 9 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Share Posted February 5, 2009 We sell deben lamps in the shop and have had some problems with the wiring now and again, the main problem is that the wire used in the lamps is harder than the wire they really want to use but because of the problem with over heating there hands are tied, if they can't find a soloution then we'er pretty much shafted, which end of the wire are you having problems with, the switch end or the plug end Quote Link to post Share on other sites

All I done was completely change the cable on mine,and,I used a piece of cable from an old Black & Decker drill.Works perfect now,I think they break because they get too hot and get a bit brittle,oh,I use a lawnmower connection as well,cos,it is much more secure............martin. p.m. me if you want a picture of mine.
