garmin about the best, also best to mount the finder reciver thing on bottom of boat inside and surround with silicone as pick up less shit,if mounted on outside tend to pick up waves and stuff more

No Mate, You must mount your transducer outside the boat on the transom for it work properly

when your engine is running it does go all scramled untill your stationary but it also picks up weed and plastic bags pritty much anything and system will say it's a fish, The only thing I use mine for is the depth and shallow alarms,

I have sonar for wreck location deep holes and fish finding, Like I said the more you pay for the more you get

I have GPS marks for these wrecks but I like too see them drifting over the mark

disagree there mate been lots of reashearch done in sea angler and come to conclusion to mount inside for best results

For best results it must be in the flow of water, it works by ultrasonic waves it cannot be mounted inside a boat

look at this link and read step 1 this is my service manual, if there a link to back up what your saying show me

have done small boating for 26 years never heard that before

Hello Mate,

Being a Charter Skipper myself, imo icom for the radio and raymarine for the finder.

Raymarine are doing some awesome all in one packages at the moment and they are not that dear really, have a look at the HD boxes as well the picture is freckin' awesome.

Remember your radio licence as well if you havent done a course do one i think you will find it pretty interesting what with all the new gismo's on the radio's now especially when the time come's GOD FORBID! that you need it in distress!

Hope this helps,

Chris.
