Guest buster321c
Right , this week its a new laptop for me as the current one will only do what it wants to ! So what i want to know ( if there are any geeks about ) is , Windows 7 Beta , or Ubuntu ? I hate Vista , and im going for a new O/system cause a change is in order i feel , so which is it ? Do i go for W7 , a mate who uses it says its very good and runs well on 256ram , or Ubuntu which ive fancied for a while but did`nt fancy all the hassle of tranfering files and stuuf , so i put it off . Who uses what , and what do you think ? atb Buster
DDD 4
Had a version of Linux on this laptop - it lasted a day before I took it off & put windows on it. Can't be doing with it, too much of a pain to sort out networked printers etc. Cheers Dave
Quasar 1
haaaaate Vista, beentesting W7 before it was beta and like it

Guest buster321c
Its a bit like the software on the Apples , it runs much more effeciently and can run fast on much less ram ( apparently ) you can get it on download from microsoft
DDD 4
mmmmm, might be ideal for the AspireOne. Think I'll have to try it. What's it like with office products, word etc? (or open office) Dave

Strong Stuff 2,171
It's mad isn't it, one mans poison and all that. I'm now on Vista, with 3Gb of RAM and a dual core processor blah blah blah, I've used every OS since 95 in my time and have to say that Vista with Firefox browser is the best and most stable I ever had. John Keswick 119
I have heard a lot of people complain about vista and you have to ask the question, why are microsoft bringing out windows 7 so quickly after releasing vista, (which i heard, cant be certain) took 5 years in the making! I think micrsoft have given up vista as a bad job...

SwissTony 0
Vista is just a filler till windows 7 comes out. Micro$oft only released it to bring money in till a decent OS came out.
