borntoshoot 1
im in the process of getting my shotgun license, i was recently looking at steel shot and how much less it costs and was wondering how much it would cost to get a gun proofed for steel. and does anyone on here have any experience with steel. i would only use steel on pigeon, crows and other flying vermin. claybusers al 9
most modern guns are proofed for steel if you want to use steel you need tl learn what it can do it is not as good as lead as it is not as dense and will not travel as far and does not hit as hard also you can only shoot a choke 1/2 or less as steel does not compress like lead if you talk to wildfowl boys they will tell that there has been a lot more injured birds rather than straight kills now tthey have to use steel

claybusers al 9
no your going the wrong way you need smaller shot for pigeons than 4 smaller shot size means more pellets. if you have or can get an air rifle this is the best way to do ferals do it at night with a small lamp or torch great fun and very effective
