aaronpigeonplucker 32
i have gone hunting in the rain twice before with my springer gun. i just want to know if it's a good idea to get your gun wet. I dry it off and oil the non wood bits after use. is hunting and cocking your gun in the rain a good idea? pigeon plucker Quote Link to post
jamiethehunter 0
As long as you have enough knowledge to be able to strip and clean the gun properly then there is no problem with using it in the wet. There are a few things you can do to help protect the gun in poor conditions the first is wrap cling film around all the parts that don't need to move ( but don't apply it to any areas that get hot ). The second is go to a fishing tackle shop and buy a landing net cover these are great as they are small and light and can be carried in a pocket and slipped over the gun between shots. The third is get a neoprene gun sock with a bit of modification you can fit these to any gun and still use it comfortably. Edited January 18, 2009 by jamiethehunter Quote Link to post
