jamiethehunter 0
It happened to a friend of mine but it wasn't the silencer that caused the power loss. What happened is when he attached the silencer the extra weight on the barrel was pulling it down slightly and air was escaping at the breech. He took it to the gunsmith and the problem was fixed. Guest hyperion
Me niether but i had it chroned and it does! how do i check seals? start by checking the breech seal for wear or damage then take it to a good gun smith and get it serviced! Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
anything that interferes with the flight of a pellet i.e a silencer...will reduce its velocity ( all be it minute). the diference between a rifle set at 11 ft/lbs and one at 12f ft/lbs gives a difference of 0.4 ft/lbs at 35 yards. so it just is not worth it.......why run the risk of losing your gun and getting a criminal reccord for the sake of 0.4 ft/lbs ????????? a good gunsmith will sort it out and keep it legal. all the best sean Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
OK then what does the average gun smith charge for such a check up? and the air leaking because of the weight might be the problem. Even though i trust my self to give a clean shot i really i just want as much power as i can and staying within the law. it just gives me the confidence that it will be quick and minimally painfull. what are your views on gas rams? cheers Quote Link to post
Guest hyperion
no idea! never had an air rifle serviced in me life! ive had my TX200 nearly ten years and its still spot on though i admit ive not used it much for the last couple of years! really depends on who you take it to and how much they have to do to it i guess! cheers hyperion Quote Link to post
