Saturday afternoon saw me gingerly trying out my sore ankle and im glad to say it got better the more i walked on it .

I was on a farm that i really like as theres a good head of deer and nice scenery with it .Wasnt long before i spotted two sat in a hedge and the stalk was on in the shape of a belly crawl.About 70 yds through the wet grass to a brow and i was within 100yds of them ,a doe and her young doe of the year .The doe was the target and as they were sat down it had to be a head shot .Well in theory but i missed cleanly and the doe got up sharpish followed by her young 'un.They stood for a second too long and i shot both through the chest ,the young doe not wanting to leave .This brings my doe count alone to 72 and 37 bucks ,not a bad season i suppose .The drag was a bit slower than normal as i was aware of the ankle by then .Still it held up ,just as well as theres more deer to cull yet .Hard life i knw but as they say ,'someones got to do it .'
