questions for the breeder?

Ok , im going to pick up a puppy on saturday

the thing is ive never got a puppy before.

Ive had a few dogs but they were all old rescue dogs.

Just wondering if you guys can give me any advise.

 

Im just wondering what questions i should ask the breeder.

What its been eating?

Been wormed.

 

What else should i ask.

if you have picked a responsible caring breeder, then your puppy should come with a diet sheet detailing all the food its had and will need, along with some of its own feed (enough to last a few days until you can get your own supply of same). It should also come with a sheet detailing what wormer it has had, and when it had it, and when it will need doing next time.

Other questions, depend entirely on a breeed (ie a slow maturing breed will have specific excercise requirements you will need to know about)....has the puppy been vaccinated or microchipped? Again depending on the breed....does it have its papers in order.......can you have a copy of its pedigree. TBH these are all things I would have told to my puppy buyers long before they were due to pick it up.

good point about the parents...I was assuming hed already been to see the pup by now and was simply returning to fetch it.
