Tracy36 0
out walking a couple of weeks ago with my patterdale in some woods i decided to go off the beaten track. there was lots of ferns, bushes, thick undergrowth etc but every so often there were parts that you could tell something had passed through. as soon as we left the track he was at work, head down, sniffing, double backing on himself, going this way then then that way, getting more excited as we went further into the woods. he took me about a mile into the thick woods and there they were, a herd of of about 7 deers! he'd never done this before even though we'd walked in the woods before. so thinking this was fluke, I did the same today but went into the woods at a different point. again i let him get on with it and yep after about 30 minutes of mad sniffing and schuttling about there they were, 4 deer. does anyone use or ever used a patt whilst hunting for deer? just wondering.........
