Dawn B 212
Just thought Id mention the benefit of DNA profiling for our dogs. Its a permanent ID, and could be the thing that proves your dog is your dog. It costs £15 and is stored free for the entirity of the dogs life. Its all done by the Kennel Club, pedigree, crossbreed, any type or mixture of dog can be profiled as each dog is unique. It can also be used to prove a dogs paternity (or maternity) as each dog has a copy of each parents DNA, so if there is any doubt as to where (or who) your dog came from, providing there are DNA profiles of the parents, you will able to be told if mom and dad are who they say they are. This does NOT give any indication of the health status of a dog, it is however a permanent ID for your dog that cannot be anyone elses.
