ems1965 0
I have a s/s shotgun which is unmarked except for "sold by Charles Lancaster " stamped on the barrels. Can anyone tell me who it is likely to have been made by Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Sounds to me like a gun of Birmingham Manufacture, which was then sold in bulk to Charles Lancaster who finished it off by stamping, "Sold By" on the barrels. Many, many thousands of guns were sold in this way, it was what the retails like Lancaster used to offer as cheaper guns, or Farmer/Keeper guns. As for who actually made it, the amount of gunmakers in the Birmingham Gun Quarter makes it impossible to definitely say who made it, but if you could put it up, Greener and Webley have one or two tell tale signs.
