Guest ferretlass
Hope its ok to post this here. Poor Levi's disabled owner is heartbroken by Levi's dissapearence. Can you all please keep your eyes open and pass it on to as many people as possible http://www.staffycross.org/newslevi.html Levi is a brindle Staff who went missing on 4th January from the Overdale area of Scarborough. There has been no news of Levi's whereabouts so his wheelchair bound owner, Steve Wilford, has supplied some video footage of Levi in the hope that seeing 16 month old Levi in action will jog someone's memory. Quadraplegic Steve is absolutely devasted by the disappearance of his beloved companion and is offering a reward for his safe return. Levi is a 18 month old entire male Stafffordshire Bull Terrier. He disappeared from his garden in Overdale, Eastfield, Scarborough YO11 3RE on Jan 4th 2006. He is tall and muscular Predominately dark with tangerine chevrons as his brindle and white diamond shaped flash on the centre of his chest. Steven says, "On the day he disappeared, he was wearing a black leather collar with brass squares and brass stafford knotts on it, he had only been wearing it for 48 hours, it was one of his christmas presents. He is very friendly and intelligent. As I am a quadraplegic paralysed from the chest down he is very responsive to verbal prompts, he loves cuddles and hugs and used to sit on my knee whilst I pushed myself around in my wheel chair. Levi has been the only thing that has kept me going since my accident he is my best friend and constant companion and I am devastated by his absence. I have put his details on the Doglost site and have contacted most of the dog wardens and rescue centres in the Yorkshire area. He is microchipped and there is a £600 reward for his safe return, I have also got people to put up posters in the area have had newspaper and tv articles broadcast." Levi's owner Steven is devastated. Steven was left paralysed as the result of an accident and Levi is his best friend and constant companion. This is Levi's story in Steven's own words. MY LOVE FOR LEVI "As slowly Levi's arrival became ever more imminent, I was filled with an overwhelming feeling of excitement mixed with a little apprehension. Sole responsibility for a helpless little ball of love and curiosity covered in fur and wrinkles was more than a little daunting; I had enjoyed the joys of being a dog owner before but not as a quadriplegic. Levi's arrival in my life quickly produced a loving bond he instantly took my heart, though not without some teething troubles. The ability for a very small very agile bundle of curiosity to negotiate small spaces far surpasses that of a six foot two quadriplegic, negotiating the obstacle course of little presents was at times challenging and cleaning and disinfecting tasks were often precarious. Fortunately Levi was not only patient, but quick to learn, and soon developed a deep understanding of the human voice. Confidences in each other grew for my soul mate and I, never fazed by life with a man on wheels, Levi consistently approached life with bounding eagerness, loving then as now to sit on my knee as we wheel around. That furry little bundle my soul mate, a purpose in life, a best friend, ever willing ear, a loyal fan and a supportive presence through every task I undertake. The unconditional love of lavish sloppy kisses and a propeller tail increased my self worth tenfold, enriching my life beyond my dreams. To Levi I was a best friend, protector, carer, playmate and companion. To witness the ecstasy on his face as he charges through the door before launching himself onto my knee brings a joy difficult to define. A perfect team, a single entity, each an integral part of the other, the contented presence in the crook of my arm as we sleep the night away, the company of a smiling be whiskered face relaxing together in front of the TV, warm days spent out on my powertrike with my best friend trotting by my side, his patience as I slowly groom him. Levi erased a significant void in my life, provided light in my darkness, my little man, and the brightest shining star. His absence has plunged me back into darkness, the void widened ever more so, incomplete. It is with a heavy heart that I have faced each dawn over the last eight weeks, devoid of joy, the only purpose the drive to achieve our reunion. Feelings of failure plague my thoughts, the inability to physically correct this wrong, to find my soul mate, a sense that Levi's trust and loyalty has been broken. My heart and soul overcome by the need for his return, the future in his absence incomprehensible, an empty bowl, an uncrumpled bed an indescribable physical pain produced by abject grief."
