All you should need is a small nail or something like that, stand the gun upright and were the plastic grip joints the rod hit the end of the rod back towards the stock, the grip should just fall off turn the gun upside down (barrel facing down) and the rod should just fall out.

thanks for that but i need to take the breech block off to fit new rod is there a hidden screw somwhere?

i would say take it 2 your gunsmith before it gets messy
