jasper65 6
ive got to say ive had 2 new 100channel marshall and am back using the luksander.. its just so reliable.. jasper does the filter make alot of difference.. and how much.. Yes mate it makes alot of difference. I can turn the gain down with the Pre-Amp off so you hardly here any Audible bleep and just a mild indication on the Meter!! Turn the Pre-Amp on and the Needle on the scale will fire across the scale and top out, the Audible signal also is amplified... It behaves like any Amplifier!! it does just what it says on the box and Amplifies the signal over a greater distance, it also help filter out gack ground noise. I contacted Louie Luksander in 94 for a Transmitter who asked me if I wanted to give one of these Amps a whirl, so far they had only been tried in 216 and he asked if they did one in 173.200 would I be interested in trying one and if I'm not happy Just send it back... It was incredible and improves the signal strength by a long chalk, it also has a seperate ON/OFF switch so you don't have to use if its not needed, Obviousley I kept it and have used it ever since, Ron Digby also purchased one shortly afterwards as did a couple of other people, Not sure if you can still get them but its worth giving Louie a ring at LL ELECTRONICS the sister company to F.L...... Just one thing I would like to add! I have read some posts about reliablilty and to be Honest I wouldn't quote any system on being reliable on the strength a year or two's use, it needs a good proper test in the field in different conditions being used regular over some years, only then would I dare to tread as to how reliable a system is. I can't speak for anyone else but I can promise you hand on heart this system I have here has been used every year since I purchased it in 91, some years it was worked harder than others and off late not as often but its still never missed a beat! that goes for the XLF-3 transmitters too...
