a mad day

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, had a mad day yesterday... Here it is. I got up in the morning as usual, set off to work, start work. Then i get a phone call, it s a mate of mine who has the netsmen in to net one of his waters. I have been fishing this water on and off for a good few years and really wanted to see what was in there. He asks can i go and give them a lift, so with in 20 minutes of the call i am in a boat pi..ed through. I worked for 40mins before i got the phone call!!. I get home at 12,40pm for my diner. Sit down, phone rings, a mate has the day off and asks do i fancy going out with the dogs. I had been given a piece of imformation about some rabbits being seen not 2 miles form my home, just a few small fields which would only take half hour to walk.

Next thing i am out with the dogs, we run a few rabbits, catch one but put more to ground. Badger sets!!! Fox sets!! Never ever have i seen as many untouched sets in such a small area!! We were amazed, the place stunk! Anyway next thing we were heading back home for the ferrets!!! it was now 4.30!

We arrive back at 5.15pm, have 2 hours ferreting kill 5 rabbits, and also had a laugh. We did a one holer smelling or charlie, it went some 20yrds around the field on the locator but bolted one rabbit.

We get back at 7.20pm, and guess what, yep the lamp comes out as we had to see the charlie and badger population! 5 charlies and a billy later, i arrive home at 10.40pm! No work, no tea, running dogs, ferreting, lamping, netting waters, what a day, and not one bit of it was planned!!! Happy days.....
