Guest JOEB
i have 2 working labradors and i was wunderin if any one could give me advice on how to keep my dogs focused on me when they sat at heal thanks How do you mean FOCUSED on you, looking at you? , not looking all around?, not having to be told a command twice? I have some experience of training dogs for manwork and also of seeing some good guys train gundogs. The first thing that comes to mind is never let anybody play with your dogs, pat them on the head talk to them, fuss them......... nothing. I know this sounds a bit hard, but it works a treat, you have got to be the only thing in there life. If they are first and foremost a family pet, living in the house, I think it will be very hard to get the same sort of total focus. JMHO All the best, JOEB
