Pump

Recommended Posts

Well I purchased a hills air rifle pump the other day from my local gun shop. Tiny place not much there and was the only pump they had. I knew they were about 140 ish online but this was 165. Didn't have much choice as the next nearest shop is a fair drive away and I had no way of getting there. So I bought it. Oh well to hell with the expense.

Tried to charge my gun with it for the first time today and I could not get the pressure above about 150 bar. Pump is supposed to be good to about 230 Bar and gun to 232. So I was looking to get it to 200 Bar or just over. I don't use that many shots i one session at the moment so this would be adequate. However upon reaching 150 Bar I could not see to get it any higher and air is escaping out of the top of the pump where plastic meets metal just under the handle. At first I thought it was just me being a weakling but i rested for a while and then tried to get some more into it. We are now talking 200 pumps or so and still nothing higher than 150 Bar.

Is it faulty or am i doing something wrong. I am used to spring guns so want to make sure before I take it back tomorrow and order one online.

Thought so I am taking it back tomorrow. Just wanted to be confident before I went into the shop so tha he couldn't try to convince me that it is fine. I knew enough to know that i should not be breaking out in a sweat to pump it up to only 150 Bar. I am not that unfit. Cheers guys I am going to try and get a straight refund and buy one online for alot cheeper if not will have to settle for an exchange but oh well. Lucky I got my Gun so cheep hey.
