ROYAL MARINES COMMANDO CHALLENGE REMINDER!

Well, less than a month to go now, so I thought I would raise the subject again, and also to let new members know what's afoot!! :D

I am doing the Commando Challenge in October to raise money for The Help The Heroes charity which aims to aid the recovery of injured servicemen and women.

In a previous topic I asked if you would be prepared to buy one of our injured lads or lasses a pint? That's roughly £2.50. Lot's of £2.50's will add up beautifully and is something that we can all afford to give.

They are poorly supported and serving us, so please give.

Please, please, please don't trun this into a row about whether you agree with the war or not, or whether they deserve our help or not. Out of respect to them if you don't want to help or support, please just leave it and not write rubbish.

If you would like to sponsor, please PM me. Obviously you don't know me, so I won't be asking for sponsorship to be paid until after I have done the challenge, and your cheques & P.O.'s should then be made out to the Help for Heroes directly.

Many, many thanks to those of you who have already promised your money and given the thumbs up for the cause. :notworthy::signthankspin:

Just over48 HOURS TO GO!!!!

Panic! panic! :o:o:o

This is just to give you all a nudge again!!

And just cos it's kinda appropriate, and makes a bump more interesting, this is my little brother who is serving with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan at the moment. It's his birthday on Sunday, he's 24. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me posting his pic as he's already in disguise!! I had just come out of hospital last Christmas and he was trying to make me laugh with his version of the "We Want You" poster.

My little kit's christening was held at RM Poole, the evening my brother left for Afghan, and he was a Godfather. It was a bit of a double edged sword, a lovely and quite spiritual evening, then saying goodbye for 8 months, to D.

It's also Little Kit's first birthday on Sunday, so the 12th October must be a good day.

Sorry to ramble. I'm missing him.

Well done :notworthy::notworthy: you have a lot to be proud of yourself for!! I know it's a good life in many ways, but it's not an easy one, and just making it through selection shows you must be one hell of a bloke.
