hunter-girl 10 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Share Posted September 12, 2008 My dog split his nail last week out lamping. it was ok, but now i have noticed that the top half of the nail is hanging off exposing the flesh underneith but the bottom half is still in place and it is very sore to touch - he is not lame as such, he just keeps licking it and wont run as he normally does. A couple of people have said to cut it off back to the toe but i have never done this before and im a little worried about cutting the quick. Can anyone give me any advise that could save me from going to the vet and giving them all my money?? Quote Link to post
