shina 17 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Share Posted September 10, 2008 ok everyone im not an electrician but does anyone know how to fit a dimmer switch to my lamp without messing it up. ive got a striker lamp so its big enough to put one in just wonderd if anybody has can i use a household one or can you get smaller diagrams would be good pics would be better cheers shina. darza 8 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Share Posted September 10, 2008 you can buy the dimmer switch for the lightforce that connects to your batterry then you put your lamp into that(the end that would go in the cigarette lighter if you know what i mean)and the dimmer is on the wire it will be awkward if youve got the dog in 1 hand like. knocker 0 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Share Posted September 12, 2008 household dimmer will be no good, go to maplin and ask them for a 2K inline potentiometer, they do them in a slide version or a dial version, i use the slide ones because they are easier to operate one handed (mine are stuck to the handle of the lamp where my thumb sits) cost about £4 and have wiring instructions included, my 170, 140 and all three clusons have them now Quote Link to post
