martin 332
'Ula'my Whippet has had two foot injuries that have put her out of commission for the last 7-8wks,but,at last today I thought she might be ok to have a light night on the lamp. She was rusty to say the least, and,it is like I have to start all over again with her.She wouldn't look down the lamp, and, she couldn't see any of the squatters even when she was stood almost right over them.I got her about 10 runs, and, she was nowhere near on them,I then went to a field(40acres)that had a fair few squatters(usually)and,as we got into the field I saw a pair of eyes, and the bunny squatted hard,so,we crept up to it and as it bolted 'Ula' just seemed to remember what it was she was supposed to do,and she nailed it very fast indeed.I was over the moon to say the least, cos I thought it was going to be a blank. After that she did spike up a bit, and, she did have a couple of really good runs, but, unluckily she didn't have anymore contact with the residing bunnies. And,jus t to put the tin lid on the night, she re-split the web on her outside rear toe,not bad, but, split anyway.Back out of action for a few more weeks..................Martin.
