BlueCoyote 0 Posted August 20, 2008 Report Share Posted August 20, 2008 maybe she was bitten once? my grandad had a squirrel dog that was great at killing and retrieving shot squirrels but one day she got one that still had some fight left in him (and she wasnt a large dog to start with) the squirrel put up a great battle before the dog killed him... and even after he was dead she was still shaking him.. then ran off with him and shredded him to pieces. after that day if my grandad didnt trust her with squirrel hunting. she would still tree them and do her job, but if he didnt grab it before she did she would run away and shred it. so.... thats my only contribution.
