borderman45 0
As a PCO I was dealing with a rat problem on a ladies property, between visits last month I was told that the lady had died of Leptospirosis ! Apparently she had been in contact with contaminated water in the bird bath. Just goes to show that complacencyby PCO's can be dangerous. I will be wearing my gloves all the time now. Netter 0
I was told about a Farrier who cooled some horseshoes out in a bucket of water and then got them out with his hand, he had a cut on his hand and a rat must have pissed in the bucket and he got weils disease and it killed him. borderman45 0
It is said that at least 50% of rats carry it, so potentially every other rat you come across has it !
SportingShooter 0
It does sound nasty, a few people have told me about it in the Keepering game. I have also been told there is a vaccination for it, Does anyone know of such? It would be handy for all PCO's and Keepers like myself who come into contact with Rats through infestation and trapping etc. Regards SS
