Hernia Question

I bred a litter of kits this year using one of my own Jill's from ferret's that i have bred for years without any health issues, and i borrowed a 2 year old Silver Hob from a mate to cover my Jill. The Hob's background is unknown really other than he comes from working stock. My Jill gave birth to 5 kits 3 hob's and 2 jill's both of the Jill kits were born with Hernia's but otherwise healthy, the hob kits were all fine. I have kept the two Jills myself as i did intend to breed from these two in the future, but for obvious reason's i cant now. I am tempted to repeat this mating again next year, as the kit's have turned into nice little Ferret's, but i am not sure if a Hernia is hereditary from the Hob's side or has my two Jills just been unfortunate to be born with one. The Hernia's have been removed from my Jill's and my vet dont have a clue about this being Hereditary or not in Ferrets. Can anyone here answer my question on this Hernia thing being passed on in breeding. Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Thank's.
