goodshot 0
good afternoon all just joined this forum and this is my first post,by reading all your replys for the above question,i have the same sort of question,i have a lanber o/u 27" barrels 2 3/4" will this take the steel shot or do i need to buy another gun just for steel many thanks Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Unless it has the Fleur de Lis marks for high performance 2 3/4" steel then you should only use standard steel. Any 2 3/4" gun can take any Standard 2 3/4" steel cartridge. It is best if it not fired through any tighter than half choke. If you want to fire any longer shells then a new gun with Longer chambers and proofed for High Performance steel. Regards SS Quote Link to post

SportingShooter 0
Yes, they will be fine as long as the barrels are in good order. Good Luck SS Quote Link to post
november 2
It is best if it not fired through any tighter than half choke. if the choke is tighter than half, it is recommended to use shot sized maximum 3,25mm (number4?) Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
No.4 is 4.1mm No.3 is 3.3mm Closer to 3.3mm but unless the gun is proofed for Steel shot, I would not recommend putting any steel through tighter than half. I have seen a Test gun that had fire 5000 round of steel through 3/4 and Full, compared to a gun which had fired 5000 Lead, through 3/4 and Full and the barrels were noticeably thinner on the Steel shot gun. Be Warned and Advised. Regards SS Quote Link to post
