Guest Ditch_Shitter
She raised Three, Bill? Christ, that's grim! As ye know; Swallows lay five ~ or always used to. I was talking to a lady only yesterday who said how she hasn't got half the swallows this year as before. Sadly, I warned her that, by next year and the year after, she'd best be grateful to See any swallows. I have three pairs here. Two pairs are into their second broods. Laying five. I see them fledge. But I don't get the counts up once they're supposed to be fending for themselves. The time when they're all sat on the wires will be the acid test. See how many I get then and compare that to last years figures and dates. Though I'm far from optimistic.
