Guest Ditch_Shitter
But I saw her F*cking incredible it was. Pat and one of his daughters have been trying, for a couple of days now, to catch her pony. It simply wouldn't let them within a fields length and I guess they were sort of running out of ideas. So, yesterday evening, once I'd got home and fed the Dogs, I took the lead I use for Chain Dog and wandered up there. I went into his field and called him over. Put the lead on his halter and led him down to the gate. Then we stood around simply waiting for someone to pass by. I know that may sound crazy. But it was bang on the time of day when Pat and Noel both go about looking at their cattle. And it's while we were standing around, communing, that a movement on the track caught my eye and this f*cking Hare came bopping out from behind the hedge along the track! I've said to the pony; " Oh look, pony. There's a hare. Hullo, hare. " And the hare's sat down to weigh us up as I studied her, indeed, chocolate brown fur and nut brown eyes. All this time, of course, I'm carrying on a gentle conversation with the pony and the hare as my left hand is gently and smoothly unzipping my camera case, on my hip. I was gagging to get this shot. Sadly, the hare had things to do and had to get on her way. So she turned and bobbed off down the track toward my top gate. Turning sharp right at a little drain to jump in and vanish out of sight. F*cking hell of an experience though, all the same Sorry I've never yet been able to bring ye a picture of one of these charming creatures. They really are chocolate brown coloured and their eyes are soft, warm brown too. Imagine that compared to the tawny fleck of a Brown Hare, with it's f*ck off great orange eyes. See; The Irish Hare is a completely separate race (or genus, or what ever the scientists call it) of hare. It was here before the land mass split and really has f*ck all to do with Brown Hares. They're more closely, genetically linked to a Scottish Mountain Hare. But they're not those either. They're just what they say on the can. Irish Hares. One of these days I'll get a good photo and show ye what I'm on about

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Well ..... That's the kiddies, mate but; If ye look closely at that site, ye'll realise that it's english based and that, in fact, the idiots running it have never actually seen a f*cking Irish Hare! You try finding an accurate description on there. Best they can come up with is that " Anecdotally " they are said to look like ..... :wankerzo4: I live among the buggers. That's why I've seen three of them this week alone. Two of those extremely close and clearly. But then, I would. I'm a Field Sportsman. I get out there and search for things. I don't sit in a bloody room all day, knocking up sites dedicated to things I know f*ck all about and protesting that other things I know f*ck all about should be banned. No, Sean, on the Irish site, directed me to an academic pdf about them. That's where I read the proper science on them. Fascinating.

I saw several of them wheni visited conamara, iexpect the only threat to them there are birds of prey,a running dog wouldnt stick with them as they fleetfoot into the mountains, wonderfull site, wonderfull place...
