mark.a 0
Give him more time to come out wait till hes all the way out and don,t snatch at him. Try to tempt him out further with one of the rabbits, make a fuss of him when you get hold of him. Its hard to stop once they start it can be caused by snatching at them and pulling them out of the hole. Just stand well back and let him come all the way out. Quote Link to post

Guest Bigbob
Get yourself a bit of drain pipe in the garden and play with him in there let him come out and give him a drop of milk in the palm of your hand do as mark says as well theres nothing worse than waiting for your ferret to come out a empty burrow Quote Link to post

hairybull 3
My old ferret will go back down if you walk up to him too quick, with him I'll just sit there and call him and he'll come trotting over. If he thinks he bolted a rabbit he'll come up but if he cant smell it at the entrance he'll go back down to find it. (he's about 8 years old but still comes with me now and again depending on energy!) He's better than a dog for marking holes you can tell whether there is rabbits(rushes down) ,a fox (fluffs up while going down) or a snake(won't go down or comes out quick) Quote Link to post
Guest The Hob
Ive had the same problem in the past [bANNED TEXT] 1 of mine I just let him take his time he's 2 yrs old but dont use him much. I mainly use my old polecat hob he's 11 yrs old, he's great wont come out until every rabbit is out of the hole. Seen him bolt 10 rabbits 1 at a time, bolt 1 come to the net turn around back down. Bolt another come to the net turn around back down etc........... still works all day like a young'an. He loves it. Quote Link to post
Mitch 0
My hob is abit to smart for his own good, He works a warren beautifully and will clear every rabbit. If there are no rabbits in the set he just comes out and i start picking up nets while he walks over to me. However i do get the problem sometimes when he knows he bolted a rabbit and knows that it is in a net. He comes out of the hole where the rabbit bolted from and wont go back down the set. Because he wants the rabbit in the net!, If i put him in a hole 5 mtrs away, he surfaces from the hole the rabbit bolted from. Maybey he does this because there are not rabbits left in the warren, i dont know. Just abit of an anoying habbit i spose. Anyone else experienced this? Quote Link to post
