Guest JohnGalway
Of me getting another mink first night out? I'm gonna give it a go again this evening Just set up a live catch cage. Nice spot where I caught my first mink Very much overgrown since last time I was there. John Wests finest sardines (in sunflower oil) as bait. I partially opened the can and dribbled the oil from the stream right into the cage. I put ⅔ of the sardines into the tray at the back of the cage. The other ⅓ I divided between the front of the cage and the stream itself. I washed the tin well in the stream as I always do. Next part of the job is to wrap a black sack around the cage, set the door properly (which I now realise I haven't done, I set it too strong ) and put some rocks on top of and around the cage, then just pull some weeds and ferns to camoflage slightly. Hey presto! It's gone Quote Link to post
Guest little_lloyd
Gawwwwd John that deffendetly looks different to the last set of pcitures you shown us,,.. They where two dogs you took last time if i am correct? ? Might of had a bitch with a litter since the last mink was caught a few months back,, Or another dog could of moved in to take over the terrietory,, but ive found in my area that once you take a mink from a spot there is not likely to have another for a while a few years in some cases here.
