why would you breed from a dog with known gentic faults

iv just been involved in a topic about a man asking advice about breeding from a sire with an undershot jaw,any opinions anyone please?? i realy cant beleave there are people advising him to go ahead and breed

Because there's more to a terrier than how it looks i wouldn't hesitate to breed it, there lots of pedigree dogs with under shot jaws like boxers bulldogs that get along fine

Its so hard to find a great working terrier , thats the last fault i would worry about , can it find ,does it stay ,does it have the desire ,is it strong ,does it push on etc, does it have strong teeth maybe but not undershot

spot on ragumup!..your barking up the wrong tree here ooty mate this forum says EARTH dogs and WORKING terriers not show dogs and pet terriers.looks are of little importance dont get me wrong evryone likes a looker but work is first and foremost.

WELL SAID LADS HE THINKS ITS WRONG TO USE AN UNDERSHOT DOG THATS A GOOD WORKER BUT HES JUST BREAD A LITTER OF A DOG WHO ONLY EVER SEEN A RAT I JUST THINK IT SHOWS HES NOT 100% COS HOW HARD THE GOOD DOGS ARE TO COME BY .. YOU DONT BREED DIGGING DOGS OUT OF RAT KILLERS............
