lukmoun4 0
hi we breed peregrines, goshawks and harris hawks, all birds bred must be in a suitable size aviary preferbly as big as you can make it. if i was you i would get a pair of redtails to breed as there is not much of them about at the moment and are lovely looking birds and great hunters. if you need any further help just ask cheers luke Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
Compatible pairs will breed in all sorts of size aviaries. too bigger aviaries expecially for pairs of Gos's are of no benefit due the fact they can put too much space between each other, in the wild they have obviouse space but when captive breeding I wouldn't want something like a 40ft aviary partitioned into 20ft sections!! when the partition is dropped and they have a full 40ft flight all sorts of damage can and will accure.... My pair Gos pen is 24ft by 12ft partitioned. the Imprints range from 10 x 10ft to 8 x 8ft! its plenty big enough to succesfully breed. One guy I know who bred with pairs since the 70's used to have 32ft x 12ft seclusion pens, On one occasion I went in with him to catch up some birds which was fighting, I went in one side while he went into the other only to see one of the Finnish males when spooked fly straight through breaking its neck on the outside wall of the enclosure I was standing in, there layed a feather perfect 2lb plus finn male karked out on the floor . they was well sort after in the 's with only a small handfull of breeders and fetching some seriouse money, as you can imagine he was gutted....
