Recommended Posts

just found a jackdaw fledgling in the back garden...............very fit and healthy

can flap his wings and run about...........but not flying yet !!

very dosile and will sit on your arm !!!

whats the best thing to do???? just leave it??.....no cats locally ( remote) so he should be ok

and don't say give it to the dog or kill it, shoot it etc....

poor little bugger deserves a chance !!!!

thanks

:icon_eek: Get it to me! I had Jackdaws before and So want another one! We have about a million down in the town here ~ ye think I'm f*cking kidding?! ~ and I'm yet prepared to further my own image of 'uniquness', locally, by being seen battering down the high street in flat out pursuit of one, if I spot one that's fluttered down from it's chimney

But, then again, that's naughty and a logistical impossibility :( Best thing is to simply leave him to his own devices. Let nature take care of things. Ye could , legally, take him in and care for him till he's ready to fend for himself a bit better. But even that's a gray area. And it'd lead ye to certainly having more work on ye hands than ye may have bargained for.

No, seriously; Best to just let nature take its course. Parent birds should do their best to look after him and, anyway, it's quite normal for Jack's to get themselves into this predicament. They can't All come to a sticky end because of it? If they do? Gotta be natural selection, hasn't it?
