barrel swop for a hw80

hi im thinking about swoping the caliber of my hw80 from .22 to .177

 

just wounderd would it be as simple as one barrel off and another on or would i have to change any internals to keep the power up?

I would have the suspicion, as probably you do, that swapping out a .22 barrel for a .177 will result in some loss of power.

Quite what that reduction would be , I don't know.

Moreover, a Weihrauch barrel on it's own won't come cheap.

I just gotta question the wisdom of performing any modifications (apart from the possibility the forum moderators might treat any info as power tuning advice, which is verboten) which might not be reversible.

Furthermore your resale value may be adversely affected

I'd say don't do it but buy a second hand one in .177.

More expensive option, but then you've got the fun of a choice of calibers or you can sell whichever you favor least.
