scotty3968 0 Posted May 27, 2008 Report Share Posted May 27, 2008 ive recently replaced a knackered turbo on my van,,the exhaust was full of oil//when restarted after the turbo was fitted the ecu light was on..it smoked and chucked oil out of the exhaust for a few mile ans cleared up ok but light still on..now its started to blow black smoke and the front pipe has started to blow slightly,,been told that it could be the cat blocked putting the light on and causing thr sooty fumes......any ideas cheers scotty Quote Link to post Share on other sites

mark.a 0 Posted May 29, 2008 Report Share Posted May 29, 2008 Black smoke is ussually a fuel problem, white smoke is oil, first off get your ecu reset to get the codes reset in its volatile memory, if your vehicle has a lamber sensor] fitted in the exhaust that will need taking out and cleaning ( brake cleaner in a aerosol is good) as it will be sending faulty readings back to the ecu which could make it over fuel. naz 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Share Posted June 2, 2008 sounds like the seals on the turbos gone if theres oil in the exhaust you mite need to have the ecu read to find out for sure the black smoke is it over fueling so could be pump but could be turbo get a code reader on it you know for sure then it will on cost about £50 but at least you know whats the problem hope this helps you Quote Link to post Share on other sites
