macberran 2
Was out last night on the long range bunnies. Let off a round and missed. Went too load another in and....nothing.. The action is jammed and the empty round is sealed in tight. Bolt will only move a little. 1. The gun is pretty clean 2. It was the first shot 3. Never done it before. 4. Norma ammo Did a little looking and lubing but nothing. Any ideas which way too go. Its a sayer SL .222. Always worked real well. Quote Link to post

Always worked real well. if you can warm the chamber area with a blow torch and i mean warm dont let it colour up then get a small block of wood hold the wood on the bolt and gently tap to open the bolt.if it doesnt shift warm it again and increase the force of the hammer blows on the wood your bolt should open.if you dont eject the case you will have to put a cleaning rod down the bore and drive the case out.the case has stuck due to excessive pressure if its factory ammo i wouldnt shoot any more and take it back . I got the case out by gently putting the cleaning rod down through the muzzle so that it engaged the flash hole of the cartridge case with the bolt in the open position and then tapped it open. Once I got the case out I gave the breech a good scrubbing with a chamber brush, I am pretty fastidious with cleaning but had neglected the cartridge chamber which got quite fouled to the extent the case became stuck. This could be your problem. Peter Edited May 13, 2008 by dicehorn Quote Link to post
